To understand Pranic Healing, it is helpful to know what Prana means. Prana is a Sanskrit word for Life energy or Vital Force. It is known in different cultures by names such as Chi in Chinese, Ruah in Hebrew, Ki in Japanese and Mana in Polynesian. Pranic Healing blends ancient art and science utilizing prana, ki or Vital Force to accelerate the natural healing power of the physical body. Pranic healing provides techniques to rebalance, harmonize and strengthen energy fields. All living things have energy fields. Our daily lives cause most of us to have imbalances in these energy fields causing physical, emotional, or psychological disruption. Pranic healing corrects dis-ease in plants, animals, relationships, finances, workplaces and then home.

Pranic Healing is based on the concept that the body has the innate capacity to heal itself and that it contains 'prana', or vital energy, which sustains it. Pranic Healing involves the transference of this vital energy to the affected parts of the body to activate the body's self-healing capacity. Pranic is derived from the Sanskrit word prana. This prana refers to a vital energy or life force that keeps the body alive and healthy. The concept of a vital force is not New Age dogma. Many of the most ancient therapies are based on the existence of this vital energy flow. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this energy as chi. In fact, Pranic Healing was widely practiced in the ancient civilizations of China, Egypt and India. Pranic Healing has its roots in ancient, traditional systems of healing. In the Oriental stream of medical sciences, it is often referred to as medical Qigong. Pranic Healing is not culture specific, and people of all cultures find it easy to accept because similar ancient healing systems exist in almost all traditional cultures.
