How to add Images, Author Bio´s and Formated Text to Enhance Your Articles
Posted by on 25 June, 2005

Chandler ArmstrongDid you know that you can enhance the appearance of the articles you post with images, formated text and hyperlinks? Here are a few examples that anyone can use to improve the look of their articles.

Important Note: Due to the fact that using the actual html code in this article would result in the document being formatted, you much change the following characters…

Were the code uses the character “[“ replace it with “<”

Were the code uses the character “]“ replace it with “>”

How to create a hyperlink in your Articles…

To properly add a hyperlink to a page outside the Body Soul & Spirit Expo, such as to your website, or another website with additional information, you simply need include the "http://" part of the hyperlink, and it will automatically format as a hyperlink. This is also the case when you are including a URL link on an event posting or in your profile or directory listing.

How to insert a picture and short biography at the end of your articles

Your Photo can also be added to your article, as well as additional images that support your article, however, please pay attention to the follow conditions.

Firstly, you much have your images save as an RBG color format, and not an CMYK color format, and they must be save at 72 dpi resolution. .

Secondly, the image pixel size needs to be of such as scale that it does not distort the page. I’ve personal edited many pictures that were intend to show up as a small photo on the page, and end up being displayed so large that all you could see in the tip of the nose of the person in the photo.

You may avoid this by making sure that your images display the size that you intended by using a picture or photo editor like Adobe PhotoShop. Most picture editing programs allow you to view your images at a scale 100%, and this will also be the size your picture will appear in your article (if you also use the 72dpi resolution setting).

Thirdly, you need to upload the picture using the “upload author image” link located on the “post article” form.

One more note.. If you are looking for were find the “Post Article” online form, you need to become a member first. After your membership has been approved, you use your assigned member login (click the member login link)

Finally, before the beginning of the test where you wish to place the image, you need to use the following line of html code…

[img src=/images/authors/BK_mapleH.JPG align=left]

You may also change "align=left" to "align=right" or "align=center" to change how you image is displayed "to the left, or right of the text or centered on the page.

Here is an example of using both the html code and hyperlink code to create a bio and link to your website at the end of your article.
