About Lynn Andrews:

teacher, and inspirational speaker.
Lynn Andrews is the New York Times and
internationally best selling author of the Medicine Woman series, 20 books and
workbooks which chronicle her 38 years of work with the 44 native women of the
Sisterhood of the Shields. With her teachers Agnes Whistling Elk and Ruby
Plenty Chiefs, two shaman women from the far north of Canada who follow the
sacred women’s spirituality of their grandmothers, Lynn has studied shamanism
and feminine spirituality with indigenous healers in the Mayan Yucatán,
Guatemala, Australia, Nepal and Egypt, as well as the American Southwest and
Europe; these women even smuggled her across the Red Chinese border and into
Tibet to attend a special gathering of the Sisterhood!
Medicine Woman, Lynn’s first book, hit the stands in 1980, followed by Flight of
the Seventh Moon (today republished as Spirit Woman), Jaguar Woman, and 16 other
books. Since then, she has been sought out by her readers as the voice of
spirit and wisdom they have been seeking for so long, and she has been invited
to speak at conferences and symposia all over the globe, even as she continues
to work with her own teachers and write of these experiences in order to share
their wisdom with the world. Her annual Spring retreat, the “Joshua Tree
Gathering,” which draws men and women from all around the world, celebrates its
20th anniversary in 2008.
In 1994, in
response to increasing international demand, she founded her four-year “Mystery
School,” the Lynn Andrews Center for Sacred Arts and Training, as a “school
without walls” accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world via mail, telephone
and the internet; four years later, she founded the School’s graduate program.
Today, Lynn’s work has grown to include a second annual retreat in Hawaii; the
International Councils of the Whistling Elk with chapters in 59 cities across
the world; multiple Online Courses throughout the year; and a Sacred Forum which
is utilized by tens of thousands of kindred spirits every month.
Lynn is a dynamic and highly accomplished inspirational and motivational speaker
who uses a variety of techniques to bring her audiences directly into the
